A FEW PARTICULARITIES OF THE DACO-ROMANIAN SUB-DIALECTS
FROM THE SOUTH-EAST OF UKRAINE AND CAUCASUS
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SEXTIL PUŞCARIU’S CONCEPTION
ABOUT LATERAL AREAS
(Abstract)

Starting from Sextil Puşcariu’s conception, inspired by the theory of spatial linguistics, the author presents some dialectal particularities (archaisms, old elements, innovations) of the Romanian idioms spoken in the linguistic enclaves from the south-east of Ukraine, between Don, Dnieper and Bug (the current regions Kirovograd and Nikolaev), from the right bank of the Dnieper and from the Donetsk basin (the regions Lugansk and Donetsk), as well as in the Romanian villages from Caucasus (the Krasnodar region from the Russian Federation).

The comparison of the linguistic data (common with some sub-dialects from the Daco-Romanian territory) with the historical and demographic ones from the present perspective motivates the inclusion of these areas in the category of lateral areas, which are marginal and isolated from the linguistic Daco-Romanian continuum.

Cuvinte-cheie: arhaism, arie dialectală, enclavă lingvistică, inovaţie, lingvistică spaţială.
