A NEW READING OF FICTIONALITY IN M. SADOVEANU'S PROSE
(Abstract)

The article aims to analyse the ways in which the ‘reality effect’, mandatory condition for a realist novel, works in M. Sadoveanu’s fiction from the 1920–1930s. By choosing two examples (Ancoutza’s Inn, one of his most famous titles from the interwar period, and Easter of Blajini, a novel less known nowadays) I try to investigate a few textual marks in the passage from histoire to récit, in P. Ricoeur’s terms: shifts of one’s status from hero to character, uses of alternative plots, narratorial highlights of some fictional scenes etc.

Cuvinte-cheie: ficţionalizare, mimesis, realismimanent, M. Sadoveanu, istoria literaturii române interbelice.
Keywords: fictionality, mimesis, immanent realism, M. Sadoveanu, Romanian literature in 1920–1930s.
